About Algonquin Regional High School

ARHS serves students from the towns of Northborough and Southborough in grades 9-12. It is located at 79 Bartlett St., Northborough. The School Phone number is: 508-351-7010. Students present a large number of public performances throughout the year encompassing 9 performing ensembles. In addition, Band and Choral students attend various competitions. Below is information on the many varied activities that Algonquin music students are involved in. The volunteer group, Northborough-Southborough Music Association (NSMA) supports these in many ways.

The Band/Orchestra Experience
 

Approximately 25% of the student body take part in instrumental music. There are 5 performing ensembles: Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Orchestra, Jazz I and Jazz II. Concert Band members also participate in the school's Marching Band. All bands and orchestra are directed by Mr. Wrenn and Miss Johnson. Besides performing in 3 concerts per year, Concert Band members participate in the annual MICCA concert festival. They are also eligible to attend the annual Music Dept. Trip, usually in May. All instrumental students are eligible to audition for a spot in the Central District Concert Band, Jazz Band, or Orchestra. Successful instrumentalists may be recommended for audition for placement in the All-State Band, Jazz Band, or Orchestra.

ARHS currently has approximatly 20% of the student body participating in the choral program and 4 choral performing ensembles. Mr. Miller directs all choral groups.
