Amy Johnson

 

Amy Johnson is the Director of Algonquin Regional High School's Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble II, and assists the String Orchestra and Symphonic Band.  She also teaches AP and Honors level Music Theory classes, and coaches various chamber ensembles.

 

Amy graduated from Ithaca College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, with a focus on clarinet performance.  At Ithaca she studied clarinet with Michael Galvan, and recently attended a graduate conducting workshop with H. Robert Reynolds.  Amy is currently in the process of applying to graduate school for instrumental music education.

 

In addition to her work at school, Amy maintains an active private lesson studio, is a member of the Paul Surapine Clarinet Choir, performs with the Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra, and the Claflin Hill Summer Winds, and freelances throughout the area. 

 

Amy is a member of the Massachusetts Music Educator’s Association, and the Music Educator’s National Conference.
