Rebecca M. Makara
Ms. Makara is Director of the Lincoln St., Peaslee, Proctor and Zeh Elementary School Bands. She directs the All-Town Band in the spring, coaches chamber ensembles at Melican Middle School and assists with the Melican Middle School Honors Wind Ensemble.
Ms. Makara graduated from the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music at The Catholic University of America in 1998 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance and Instrumental Music Education. She is currently completing requirements for a Master of Music Education degree at the Boston Conservatory, graduating summa cum laude.
Ms. Makara has studied flute with Leslie Hunt, Eleanor Lawrence, and Elinor Preble. She has performed in national and international masterclasses for Robert Willoughby, Walfrid Kujala, and Bonita Boyd, Jeffrey Zook and Ervin Monroe. Ms. Makara maintains an active private lesson studio, is principal flutist of the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra, performs with the Willow Flute Ensemble, and freelances throughout the area
