2007-2008 NSMA Scholarship Programs

Private Lesson Incentive Awards

The Northborough Southborough Music Association awards a limited number of Private Lesson Incentive Awards of $100 each for students who are currently active in a school music program and are studying music privately, or would like to begin private study.

The application must be filled out and received by the student's school music teacher no later than November 9, 2007. Students are eligible to apply if they are in grades 6-12 in the public schools of Northborough or Southborough and if they did not receive an award in the previous school year. Selection of recipients will be based on commitment, length of time in the program and music teacher evaluation. Announcements and award distribution will be made at the school's winter concerts. The award will be valid until June 30, 2008 and is paid directly to the private music lesson teacher.

The Northborough Southborough Music Association supports the music programs at Algonquin and Melican and Trottier Middle schools. Last year, Private Lesson Incentive Awards were awarded to 48 students!

Senior Scholarships

Senior Scholarships are awarded to ARHS Seniors who have participated in ARHS music programs throughout their tenure, and plan to major in music in college. Annual scholarship amounts will be $500 each and are awarded at the discretion of NSMA.

The Bartolini family graciously awards one special senior scholarship each year to the student who most reflects Kathy Bartolini’s love of the arts both at school and in the community. The recipient will be chosen by the NSMA, and the award amount given each year may vary.
