Grade Level Choruses
Directed by Mrs. Alzapiedi - There are two chorus groups at Trottier Middle School. There is a 6th grade chorus and a 7th & 8th grade chorus. These groups rehearse once a week during school and are taught basic singing techniques and part singing. They perform in concerts in December and May/June each year. Students in the 7th & 8th grade chorus are eligible to audition for the Central District Festival. Students in the 8th grade participate in a chorus clinic at Trottier each year given by Dr. Eaton and members of his Algonquin chorus groups.
Grade 6 Concert Band
Directed by Mr. Clark - 6th grade students meet twice per week plus one sectional rehearsal per week during school. They perform in the winter and spring school concerts each year.
Grade 7/8 Concert Band
Directed by Mr. Clark - Students in grades 7 and 8 meet twice per week during school. In addition, band students take part in a band workshop each week. Grade 7 and 8 band students are eligible to audition for the Central District Festival. They perform in the Winter and Spring School concerts.
Stage Band and Big Band
Directed by Mr. Clark. Stage Band provides an introduction to jazz performance and Big Band is typically for students who have had this introduction, playing more advanced literature. Both bands are open to students in 6th-8th grade. Acceptance into the ensembles is by audition in the fall. There are weekly sectional rehearsals before school as well as a full rehearsal after school for Big Band. Big Band performs at the annual ARHS Jazz Night with Guest Artist, and at the Trottier winter and spring school concerts. Stage Band rehearses once a week after school. Stage band performs at the Trottier winter and spring school concerts.
Brass Ensemble
Directed by Mr. Clark. This ensemble meets once a week before school and performs in school concerts and the MICCA Solo and Ensemble Festival in May.
